Cause: There was a seal leak on pump P-5658. This leak caused approximately 2 barrels of #6 oil to be released and enter a storm water ditch. Ground water was affected by the leak of oil from this pump.

Notes: The spill was contained by forming a dike and boom in the storm water ditch, and then using a vacuum truck to clean up the oil. As reported, the oil did not leave the facility property. There are conflicting statements as to what was released. The incident report states 2 barrels released from #6 oil, while another report states 2 barrels released from #6 oil residue.		84.0 gallons

2013-12-05		line leak near Tank F-492
Cause: ON December 5, 2013, operations personnel in Logistics discovered a line leaking #6 Oil in the containment area near tank F-492. Immediately after discovery, remediation and maintenance efforts began.

Notes: Liquids were recovered using a vacuum truck. Contaminated soils were excavated and properly disposed. Material that evaporated during the release and recovery operation was released to the atmosphere and dispersed naturally. Operations worked to identify the exact leak source on this insulated line. Insulators were dispatched to remove insulation which identified a hole in the top side of the pipe which was caused by corrosion, and the line was isolated. All impacted soils were excavated and properly disposed. Motiva has no current knowledge of pollution migration as material was remediated and recovered in the containment area.		44.9 gallons
