Fire at the molten sulfur storage pit caused a by-pass of acid gas from the Sulphur Recovery Unit to the flare during an emergency shutdown of the SRU and hydrotreater. Steam and nitrogen lines into the pit to snuff the fire and water for cooling surrounding structures.
Fire extinguished and SRU brought back online.
